Carolina LatinX Connect
LatinX Connect is a facilitated conversation among Latino leaders and organizations around the region designed to engage with the Carolina’s fastest-growing community.

The next Carolina Latinx Connect Meeting will be hosted by Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, August 29, 2019, from 12 Noon – 1:00 pm at 36 Montford Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801.  Please RSVP. Lunch provided. ALL ARE WELCOME.

Project Cocina Latina cultivates low income food entrepreneurs as they formalize and grow their businesses by providing industry-specific technical assistance and access to market opportunities. The program instills an entrepreneurial spirit in our community while teaching skills needed to develop a business from scratch.

BAILEMOS "Let's Dance"
BAILEMOS, is a culturally-tailored, community-based performing arts program developed to promoting cultural awareness, physical activity, self-confidence, perseverance, social interaction, and self-esteem while providing structure and a creative outlet to the members of our community.

Aztec Dancers
Aztecs are native peoples indigenous to the Americas. Long before the invading Spanish hit the Americas, there were no borders. It is also believed that the Pueblo peoples and ancient Anasazi peoples of the southwestern states originally came from the south from what is known today as Mexico.

International Dance Academy
Folklórico dance from around the world.  Modern folk dance tradition is a blending of elements from its Indigenous, African and European heritage. Before the arrival of the Spanish, indigenous dance developed with strong ties to the religious practices. It is not one particular style but rather a collection of various regional and ethnic traditions.

Día de los Muertos Holiday has expanded beyond its roots in Mexico to provide comfort and community to those who have lost loved ones in cultures around the world.

Carrera de los Muertos

Carrera de los Muertos is a vibrant 5k run that honors Dia de los Muertos. Experience a great sense of community through a little exercise, art, music and a lot of fun.  Walkers, runners, baby strollers, and families are welcome.

Latinos are a patchwork quilt of faces, colors, backgrounds and countries of origin that continue to enrich our communities in countless ways.  The parade is a fun way to showcase Latino diversity and kick off Asheville's holiday season.
