Hola Community Arts and MountainBizworks are helping aspiring entrepreneurs make their dreams a reality.

Food lies at the heart of the our community, and you don't have to look far to find hidden entrepreneurs in the kitchens of many homes. We recognize the need to formalize these food businesses and the opportunity created when you turn inconsistent and prohibited home restaurants into sustainable legitimate businesses.

Project Cocina Latina cultivates low income food entrepreneurs as they formalize and grow their businesses by providing industry-specific technical assistance and access to market opportunities. The program instills an entrepreneurial spirit in our community while teaching skills needed to develop a business from scratch.

Project Cocina Latina was born out of a belief that a community of natural entrepreneurs, given the right resources, can create self-sufficient businesses that benefit themselves, their families and their community.

Our curriculum provides hands-on, industry-specific technical assistance and access to market opportunities.

Topics Covered:
  • Cultural differences in business
  • Temporary Food Establishment Requirements
  • Environmental Health Food Inspections
  • Fire & Safety Inspections
  • Industry-specific Business Planning Class
  • Financing Opportunities
  • Public Relations / Marketing / Press Releases
  • Market Opportunity:  Over 23,000 people attend Hola Community Arts events

Successful graduates of Project Cocina Latina become food vendors at Hola Community Arts International Festivals!
